A Message from Zoothailand March 30

We have reviewed some clips and concluded that it is hanging behavior.
What appear on the screen does look exaggerated with how it looks and also the sounds.
We have told the staff to invent a protocol not to spoil LP with ANY judgments from individual keepers. We need a uniform treatments from all keepers plus a flexibilities on some specific behavior that might be harming LP.

We are hoping this development will lead LP to grow up and live like juvenile and subadult panda that plays during the day and sleep at night eventually.

We cannot let LP see LH at this moment simply because we do not want to fail the weaning process that the team have spent 5-6 months separating them as smoothly as we can.

  1. Im very thankful for the reply from zoothailand, eventhough I don't think that they fix the problem at the right spot.
At least there's a real vet. with a long experience told us what's going on with our pandas.
So sad that they can give only life to our Little Linping but they can't give her a soul of happiness.

  2. The last paragraph amused me.

Their weaning process badly FAILED from start already.
    How can it fail more?

I also don't think they can say "separating them AS SMOOTHLY AS WE CAN". They could have done it better and smoothly, but they chose not to simply because they did not put the best interest on LP & LH welfare. Instead, they did put the timeline to get LH ready for the next insemination first!
